Speak Up and Save Sunnyslope Resources

The City of Phoenix is facing devastating  budget cuts that, if adopted, will cause the Sunnyslope community to lose its library, youth center, senior center, after school programs (PAC) and north mountain visitor center to closure. In addition, many valuable resources such as those provided by public transportation and law enforcement will be reduced. Please make the time to view the proposed budget and attend a community budget meeting to convey your priorities to our city officials. Your voice will make a difference. Your voice is desperately needed.

Bulk Trash Area Numbers Have Changed

The City of Phoenix picks up bulk trash (or uncontained trash) quarterly. It is a violation of City ordinance to place bulk trash out more than one week before the published collection start date. Most of Sunnyslope is now in area 9 (homes bounded by 19th Ave., Dunlap, 12th St. and Northern, for example are in area 10).

Pickup begins in area 9 on Feb. 1, and all Sunnyslope pickups will be completed by Feb. 15. Click here for the new map and 2010 schedule or call (602)262-7251.

To report premature placement, contact Public Works Customer Service at 602-262-7251.

What Does the 2010 Census Mean to Me?

Money to your community for the services you need. Each person counted in the 2010 Census brings more than $400 dollars a year to Phoenix to fund critical programs and services. It helps pay for police, fire, parks, libraries, senior centers, roads, public transit, neighborhood revitalization and more. Because funding is distributed to cities and towns based on population, when you complete your census questionnaire you ensure that thousands of your tax dollars are returned to your community in critical services for you and your family. If you don't return the questionnaire, a Census representative will contact you by phone or visit your home as many as six times seeking your answers. If you still don't respond, your neighbors may be asked about the people residing in your home. For more information, call 602-427-0660.
